Dear Friends,

It's hard to believe that we're already making plans for our 2010-2011 season at the Philharmonic, my fourth season with this marvelous orchestra and our "two years to go" season as we anticipate the exciting opening of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in 2012.

The third season of the Philharmonic's Pops Series offers dazzling programming featuring star performers from Las Vegas and around the nation. Las Vegas favorite Clint Holmes joins conductor and pianist Vinnie Falcone in a "A Tribute to Frank Sinatra" in October, four fabulous soloists and the Las Vegas Master Singers join us in March for An Evening with Rogers and Hammerstein, and December brings us brand new soloists and great new arrangements for the 4th edition of the Philharmonic Christmas Celebration.

The Philharmonic's Masterworks Series features many familiar favorites, including beloved symphonies by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Berlioz' masterpiece Symphonie Fantastique. This year there is a return of the always popular cellist Zuill Bailey. During this great season we'll be joined by the dashing Italian pianist Fabio Bidini, the brilliant cellist Julie Albers, and we feature our own harpist Kim DeLibero and flutist, Alexander Viazovtsev in the Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp. Our season closes in May 2011 with the Philharmonic's first ever performance of the Symphony No. 1, the "Titan", by Gustav Mahler. And be sure to look for our additional Masterworks Rising Star concert in February.

I hope you'll be with us for every note.

With best regards,

David Itkin
Music Director and Conductor
